Fiction Story: Andrew, an English inventor, uses a bachelor party to escape his job and adulterous wife. Maria, formerly a top escort whose career ended when her face was horrifically slashed by a knife. They fan the spark when they meet into warm blaze. This tribute to Oscar Wilde is my attempt to bring some of his ideas into he twenty-first century.
The chapter headings are all titles of published works by Oscar Wilde (1854-1900), the Anglo-Irish dramatist and bon vivant.
In response to criticism, Wilde issued a revised edition of The Picture of Dorian Grey with a preface that included the bon mot:
‘Books are well written, or badly written. That is all.’
