A Halloween 2026 Contest Entry
Mark Schmidt, an MIT-educated Midwesterner married to a wealthy Boston venture capital CEO, has become the laughingstock of his wife’s corporation. A cuckold humiliated by her rekindled affair with the company’s legal advisor, Mark devises an elaborate Halloween prank: fake his own death and put the blame on the two lovers. But in a world of old money, betrayal, and carefully guarded reputations, Mark’s Halloween trick or treat prank at the party goes far beyond what he ever thought it would.
