Reviewed:
So once in a while, I check the "New Stories" page. You know, just in case. I'll admit that this doesn't often pay off in the form of a review, let alone in my discovery of something that I've been waiting a long time for, but today was a lucky day for me.
It's no secret that I greatly enjoyed the start to Any Pseudonym's saga of Frank and Alpha--I reviewed it favorably and cited Alpha as one of my favorite characters. I have great news to any other fans out there: AP hasn't lost his touch. Even though it's only the prologue and first chapter out so far (placeholder review #2!), it's plain that the cast is back in full force, and that they're all operating as expected. The downside, so far, is that there isn't enough Alpha, but there's a saying that goes "you've got to eat your vegetables before you can have dessert", or something.
There isn't "much" written yet, where much in this case is defined as already being longer than the majority of the stories on SOL, but there's a huge amount of potential, as well as foreshadowing and hints of events to come. Frank's typical over explanations and parenthetical are constant (and often humorous), and he's even adding more girls to his ever-expanding harem right at the start.
I think the biggest improvements so far over the original work would be:
* Technical quality, which is damn near perfect by SOL standards
* Acknowledgement of the nonstop sex scenes and a focus on making them more unique (though obviously, being only the start of this story it's hard to tell if the trend will continue)
I applaud AP's continued creativity, especially with regard to the staged scenarios which are set up for each new cast member. Hilarious, character-based humor all around, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I had some good belly laughs.
Read "Life With Alpha", then read this, then keep reading this as it gets posted.
