Reviewed:
This is the first of Stacatto's books that I have read. It won't be the last. Does that mean that I have enjoyed it? Yes it does. I would not be taking the time to review it if I had not.
The title is not particularly original but it sums up the the tale rather well. It is the story of Zack, who was indeed shipwrecked after being shot by pirates. That in itself is not a really original theme. However Mr. Stacatto has done a masterly job with the plot, not only introducing most of the elements that we would expect to see but adding his own unique interpretation, with twists and turns that keep the reader's attention and interest at a high level.
As a piece of historical fiction it is almost believable. As an action/adventure tale it blends reality with fiction at a very acceptable level. It is sufficiently descriptive that one can visualise the characters and location quite well.
Is it perfect? I don't think so but the niggles are very minor and it is provided free of charge for our enjoyment. It is unrealistic to expect perfection form an amateur author but we should expect high standards. In this case we got them.
Therefore I say, 'Thank you Mr. Stacatto and keep up the good work'.
I am not a generous scorer. It is gets an 8 that means that I really liked it.
Read it - you won't be disappointed.
