Welcome back, curious2c!
This story is all about a loner, living way way (WAY) out in the boondocks of Alaska, and he likes it that way. It deals with a small, friendly cast, and centers around our happy hermit's decision that he does NOT (notnotnotnotnot) need a woman in his life! So there!
You can guess how that goes, but curious2c puts together a good ride before wrapping things up with a typically good bow. If you're somehow unfamiliar with curious2c, I pity you, and heartily recommend that you read this one, then work your way through a good chunk of his catalog. In my oh-so-humble opinion, he's one of the better writers around SOL these days. Three of his stories rank in my personal top 10, which is pretty damn good.
Give this one, and his others, a read. You won't be disappointed.
Technically, there was one case of a word being switched for a close cousin (though I can't remember which word that might be at the moment), but otherwise the story was perfect, and flowed very well. The plot was engaging and fun, and well-put-together. There were no stroke elements to the story, which curious2c acknowledged and explained at the beginning. I slightly disagree, as there actually was a pretty good opportunity or two for a good sex scene that fit into the plotline he had created. But that's my humble opinion flaring up again.
