It's been a year since Lubrican added an "Uncle Bob" story, so fans of the series will be thrilled to find "Uncle Bob's Charter Boat."
Not that it's really a series . . . the "Bobs" in the story are all different, even if they're kind of the same. And the nieces they love are all different, but have a lot in common . . .
Actually, the majority of the series is five or more years old, short stories posted when Lubrican first arrived at storiesonline, under the moniker "Beating Off Bob." An amazing storyteller and master of the genial stroke piece in which someone ends up pregnant, he moved on to more complex, more extensively plotted stories. And although, as "Charter Boat" proves, he hasn't forgotten his beginnings, one can see his development as a writer in this story.
"Charter Boat" is the longest of the "Uncle Bob" stories, although it doesn't cover appreciably more story. It simply tells it better and more completely, and gives a deeper look at characters who would otherwise end up as fantasy stereotypes.
Oh, the facets that lovers of Lubrican's erotic prose have come to expect are still there. Uncle Bob is, as always, hale, hearty and well meaning, determined to overcome his desire to do what he knows is wrong, even though he's doomed to failure. His niece, as always, loves him to pieces, is just becoming aware of her sexuality, and wisely realizes that what Bob feels to be wrong is quite right, indeed. I'm not sure that any Uncle Bob has ever been able to keep from giving in to a truly determined niece.
The niece, in this case, is named Mandy, is 16, and accepts a lot about her life simply because it's always been that way, not realizing that Bob is already a lot more a part of her family than she ever imagined. Her summer job as first mate on the titular charter boat is about to open her eyes to things she had never considered.
And that's all the reader needs to know, going in, because the rhythms of a Lubrican story are familiar and comfortable; naughty, yes, but in such a pleasant way. The only difference is that now, at this point in Lubrican's writing career, the reading experience is richer.

Mandy, a vivacious 16 year old, takes a summer job on her Uncle Bob's luxury yacht as 1st mate. We get to witness the girls sexual awakening as she explores her budding needs and desires. Mandy's Uncle Bob, who also happens to be her mothers lover, is acquiescent in her advances. This leads to a series of titillating encounters between them and their passengers.
If there was a list of Masters on SOL, Lubrican, in my opinion, would be in the top echelon. After reading Charter Boat I firmly believe that he is really a teenage girl in disguise. He captures the girl's mindset and develops her character in such subtle maneuvers to make her seem very believable.
As always, Lubrican's writing is technically superior. He maintains the POV consistently and provides the proper focus on the secondary characters.

Jill is Mandy's mother, and Mandy is a truly beautiful teenager who is madly in love and lust with her Uncle Bob, who is madly in love, and lust, with Jill, who is, incidentally, his sister. Now Bob's profession is a cruise boat operator, and niece Mandy is his first mate, well really his second mate, because Jill is to all intents and purposes his first mate ... got that? Well if you have, please explain it to me, because I can't concentrate after reading Bob Lubrican's latest tour de force about true love and family life.
Enjoy, and do not let your niece read about how it's done.
