Your sister dumps her two young teen kids on you, so she and her dumbass husband can go screw on a Love Boat cruise. The kids are great, and you're their favorite aunt. What could possibly go wrong? Except--per losgudian logic--everything. I'll warn all in advance, this is a pretty weird story. I really like the writing, and I did mark up a printed draft first. Plus, it's fiction funny. But the storyline probably has something for everybody to hate. Lash me lightly, if you please.

On a site that's known for incest stories, it says a lot that Losgud's name always gets my attention when it shows up among the day's newly posted stories. This is one author that always seems to have a fresh take on familial relations, and does so with humor and style.
"Those Darn Kids" is a little less grounded in the real world than some of Losgud's other stories, but it's an intriguing and fun read, a tale about an aunt dealing with a niece and nephew who have been dumped on her for a week while their parents take a cruise. The teenagers are sexually active -- with each other -- and generally horny, and Aunt Lucy must find a way to deal with the situation before it overwhelms her.
What mostly seems an over-the-top farcical romp turns out to be a little more by the end, a cautionary tale about what can happen when someone is backed against a wall and isn't allowed to live life her own way in her own house.
Losgud's prose is generally clean, if a bit flowery at times, but the plot is clever and the sexual situations are pretty steamy. Will Lucy get the upper hand? And who'll have the last laugh?
