Losgud gives us a simple stroke story here centered entirely around the theme of sledding with a partner in this ode to lazy winter days.
When Jesse finds his girlfriend Ronnie is unable to join him at the park for a day of zooms across the snow covered hills he finds his sister Joy in the same predicament. With Mom and Dad not so subtly encouraging the kids to get out of the house so their folks could have some indoor fun, what else is there to do but make the best of it on their own? So hand in hand with Big Bertha (their father's well kept antique radio flyer) they head off to the park only to find it quite deserted! Where is everyone on this great day for sledding?
The two take turns riding separately until Joy suggests they try going down together. They do. From that point on "sledding" would be something Jesse would always have a partner for...
One of the best tales of sibling romance and better thematic uses of the weather I've ever seen.
