This author hasn't written any new stories on SOL since 2011. He has some very good ones available for you to read should you chose to do so. This is not typical of his long series of stories here, but I just read it and decided it needed to be recommended to everyone because I liked it and I think most readers will too.
There isn't much plot, I will score it a 7 because it works but isn't complex or all that surprising, very limited twists and turns. Technical score is good, I mostly don't give nines or tens unless something blows me away. This is a solid eight. I didn't see any errors. Again the appeal is how smoothly the story moves along and how the happy ending gets inserted into a come-from-behind start. I will suggest it is an eight, I hope you will agree.
