I stumbled upon "Uncle Randy and the Angry Niece" while reading over the recent top scores and initially was skeptical about the name. Uncle Randy? Could you be any less subtle? Yet I've read a few of Russell Hoisington other stories and decided to take a chance.
What a great story! The plot was a bit predictable, but the characters felt realistic and I enjoyed the slow seduction. In the past my only criticism of Russ's stories was the age of the main female characters were too young. This time he nailed the age perfectly.
I do have a few minor criticisms. The dialogue was a bit forced at times (some of the "I'm not going to lie to you" sequences felt unrealistic), but on the whole the conversations were quite plausible. The seduction may have been too drawn out as towards to middle I was impatient for the end, but loved every chapter. Finally, some of the later plot lines (like visiting the other ranch) didn't flow perfectly, but, hopefully, will be followed up on in a sequel.
If you're looking for some light hearted fiction, I'd highly recommend stories by Russell Hoisington. If you want more of a plot make sure to sort them by length, but the flash stories are also fun and are very quick reads.
