Reviewed:
In the King's Army is a great fantasy novel, that is sadly left unfinished. I found it to be a great story and very entertaining. It's sad that it never got the ending it deserved, but the chapters written are still worth reading.
On the technical side, I noticed some small mistakes and sometimes the story is a bit more telling than showing. The latter would have made it even more immersive.
The plot is exciting to read, however, and it kept me reading the novel in a single go until I finished all the available chapters.
As for appeal; I'm sucker for a good fantasy story and this is one of the better ones out there. Volentrin had some unique takes on the genre and that's what made it refreshing to read.
