In "A Dream By The Fire", we have the story of Scott, a man who is infatuated with his neighbor Tabitha. The problem is, Tabitha has her eyes set on the married doctor she's been seeing. On a snowy Christmas Eve, the doctor stands Tabitha up. As Scott lets his frustations out and tells Tabitha how things really are with said doctor, their relationship undergoes a change. But will it last? Read along to find out.
The sex in the story is pretty good, but it gets stuck between pure stroke and fitting a more romantic story. As such, it doesn't give as much "bang for the buck" as some of the author's other short stories have. Still, it fits the story perfectly.
The plot itself is very good. I would have liked a more detailed ending for completion sake, but that's just my personal need. It's implied, but I'd rather know.
Technical, there were no errors I noticed in the story. This is typical of Al Steiner's work.
Overall, I very much enjoyed this story when I originally read it, which was around Christmas time. It feels a little out of place here on June, but it still works well. I recommend this story to anyone that likes romance with some good sex thrown in.
