Reviewed:
Danielle is a new author worth following.
I expected this story to be something else entirely when I first saw it. I assumed it may be sort of a NIS type story involving embarrassed nude females. The set up was classic "Art exhibit that exposes your vulnerabilities, flaws, and opens yo to ridicule as an experiment" type of thing.
I imagined the way it was set up that you literally live in a glass house, and let people throw stones.
I was set for a good time down a familiar road.
However, from the start, it became clear that was not the road we were on. I won't spoil it for you but it's a fairly long story (chapters are relatively short for my tastes) that involve twists that may be a bit cerebral for some.
I am not a fan of the "style" of story. These are long paragraphs of exposition in the form of thoughts. You get into the character's head and can see that the storyteller (a shy girl) is probably the studious type who would journal this way.
However, I much prefer a dialogue heavy version of 1st person show not tell, and not the mind fuck that you'll experience if you continue with it.
The author invented an entire world and just dropped it on the new stories page complete and ready to explore.
It's cleanly written, and I could not find any grammatical issues.
They only have 16 followers so far, but I feel like Danielle must be porting from some place else because these stories are very polished and seem like they have been honed over time, not just dashed out quickly and they've added 20 varied stories in the last few months.
I would encourage if this story is not your bag, you still look at the author's portfolio because they seem to have a wide variety of stories (that are mostly up my alley).
They are clearly a mature talent, that is just starting their journey here at SOL. All in all, I would recommend the story. I don't think I've ready anything quite like it.
