Carol and Jeff have been just friends for six years. He's stuck by her through innumerable boyfriends, moved her into and out of several guy's places, and been there to wipe the tears. He just helped her move out of another asshole boyfriend's apartment. Can they be more than friends? Should they be? How do they really feel about each other when you strip off six years of baggage and get right to the core? Carol decides to try a date, really a seduction, and see if she can move the relationship to the next level. Will they become lovers? Will their long-time friendship survive? You'll have to read it to see.
I found this to be a sweet story of a relationship that's been hanging on the edge for years and finally is ready to be sorted out. We see a clear message what Jeff has been doing for Carol over the years. I'm left wondering whether she supported him in a similar fashion and I wish the story had a little more of that. There is too much of the "lovesick slave" in Jeff for my comfort and friendship needs to be a two way street to last. That's really my only complaint. The story reads well and I didn't notice any technical problems. There is an appropriate amount of sex to go with the plot.
There are a few nice quotes in here including, "a friend is a guy that has to put up with all of the same crap as a boyfriend but doesn't get any of the benefits." Aah, the wisdom of the love story.
