I'm a softy for romantic stories about heroes and love. So how come I liked 'Dee Dee's Husband Responds' so much? It's certainly not a romantic story. Brad derides his wife's infidelity, her lies, her cheating; her attitude through their marriage that any problems were his fault.
He's filing for divorce, never to speak to her again. She hurt him horribly when she confessed her affair from years ago in a short story online. And she left the names recognizable so that Brad first heard about it when dozens of "friends" emailed him a copy of the story.
He's done with her--but is he done?
The story is not a romance but it does display love and hope and a future--despite his rejection of the past. It is well-written as a tumble of emotional outpourings from a deeply hurt man who makes a bold declaration, modifies it, changes his mind, and then restates the original declaration in his pell mell rush towards explaining and ending his marriage.
A good story.
