The "Theatre" is a wonderful experience which demands the interaction of the Actors. I have been told by friends who are Actors that as soon as they cross that imaginary line onto the stage they are so involved with the Play that all else is forgotten. Stanislavski taught his students that reality was of the paramount importance in making an act into reality for the Audience.
So, imagine two youngsters as the hero and heroine in a Civil War Drama playing the parts of two frustrated lovers separated by the War; not having interacted in a love scene before, they, Bobby and Jan, practice together reading their lines, and the love scene they must do under the cover of a blanket on stage in front of a live audience.
Thus is reality achieved, and for four days they were an outstanding success.
