Reviewed:
I think this story might have been misnamed; there are three protagonists. I found it an interesting love story. I related to one of the main characters, Todd, as someone who is not comfortable in most crowds, and who would rather be doing his thing professionally than most other activities. Most of the rest of the characters are either lovable or noticeably detestable.
The Bad
his is a story in a wider universe not available on SOL; I hope some references will make more sense as I read the rest of the universe. Problems are generally more bark than bite; they are too easily solved and just disappear after that. There are some characters who just seem to be there for local color and to lengthen the work.
The Good
The main characters are likable and often lovable. The beginning is really well crafted and nicely plotted. The progression of the love story is fun to watch. Love between minor characters is interesting to watch, too. The varieties of situations throughout the story keep it from ever getting dull or boring or repetitive or dull or boring. :-)
In the end, this is worth reading, especially (I hope) if you read the rest of the universe. If you are interested in reading that, it's part of the James' World universe shepherded by Mike C. It's available on ASSTR.org by looking for Mike C in the author's listing. Until you take the time to track that down, have fun with this entry.
