Todd_d172 is one of my very favorite SoL authors, and this story doesn't disappoint. Before reading it, you MUST read Todd's "The Harpy", or you won't understand what's going on in this one. In "The Harpy", the male protagonist is in an untenable position while his wife is cheating on him. Out of the blue, his wife's boyfriend's wife shows up and the action is nonstop after that. Rest assured all get what's coming to them.
If "The Harpy" is a delicious "burn the bitch" story, "Relentless" is the flip side: "burn the bastard". The cheating husband from "The Harpy" shows up in this story, and he finally gets his due.
Both stories are fast-paced and very satisfying. You really can't go wrong with a Todd_d172 tale.

Todd_d172's stories are always interesting, especially those in the "Tales from the Shack" series. I highly recommend those, too.
But now I'm reviewing "Relentless", which is, in a way, a sequel to an earlier story of his, "The Harpy". As Todd says, reading "The Harpy" first adds context to "Relentless", but it's not really necessary.
In fact, to me, "Relentless" is an even better story than "The Harpy". Fortunately, I've never had anyone do something so terrible to me that I totally lost control of my anger. Both of these stories are about that, and "Relentless" is masterfully crafted so that, even if you have read the earlier story, it takes a while to tie things together and say "Oh, wow!"
But that's what I said when the realization hit. So, even if you don't read the earlier story, don't miss "Relentless". It's entirely satisfying, letting you take out any anger you may have ever had on someone else, vicariously, and with no risk of jail time.
And then go read the rest of Todd's stories, too. You'll be glad you did.
