I want to share with you this true story about an Iranian lesbian who motivated her summer school class to get their maths qualification. This was in 1980 at the height of the Iraq-Iran war when the Iranian government came up with the idea of brainwashing students into being martyrs for their "holy" war.
These were the times when all Iranian women were required to be fully covered head to toe in black shapeless clothes and teachers were required to push the government propaganda about their holy war into the minds of these children.
Considering her sexual orientation and the cultural requirement for women to be seen and not heard, the motivation she gave to the students was amazing and probably blew their little minds LOL.
The story is about to go into the archive but I would like to share it as an example of a brave woman doing what little she can to counteract the propaganda being fed to students by her government.
See what you think.
This is only a short story so I will leave the scores alone but it appealed to me for the bravery that she displayed considering the culture and the time.
