Reviewed:
I thought I would review this story. When I write reviews I wonder if my inadequate abilities do justice to the fine stories that I read. Who knows but here goes.
Obviously if I am writing a review I must have liked this story. How much did I like it? So much that I could not wait for the author to finish posting the end of the final part, I had to go buy the book so I could hurry up and read the ending.
This is a story about the end of the world. As the earth is being destroyed, John‘s neighbor makes him an offer to be saved somehow. He discovers that his salvation involves being placed into a form of suspended animation. He later discovers that most of the earth has been destroyed and he is among a handful of survivors of which he has no interaction with. So this is a story mostly about a single individual that has survived the end of the world. There is also an artificial intelligence that he interacts with. That is the story. What kind of a story can there be with only two basic characters? As it turns out, a pretty decent one. The full story goes on to how the protagonist survives long term, the changes that occur and how they affect him, and the truth of the tragedy and how he deals with it. In its own way an action/adventure of his life going forward to survive. Later in the first book he is revived to rescue an unknown, unaccounted for individual. This is a pivotal event in the story. Then in the second book there is a big change. BIG, BIG CHANGE! I myself don’t think the change is very upsetting to the overall story but I would encourage the reader to continue on with the story and see all that happens.
I would say this had a pretty good plot and was very well written. An action adventure/science fiction in the beginning with a little romance in the third book. If you told me I would enjoy a story where mostly everyone has been wiped out I would wonder if that could be possible. It was surprising how much I enjoyed this and it was a testament to the quality of the story. Highly recommended.
