I enjoyed this story. In some ways it made me remember my own misspent attentions and in other ways it made me angry at the irritatingly familiar way that the friend zone is sometimes used as a backup plan when a girl suspects that she'll need a Plan-B down the road.
It was cathartic and beautiful and well written. It's the kind of story that most men (and no few women) can recall happening to them at least once. At the end of the story, the vignettes of the different characters' lives left me feeling like I wanted a little more about them, but I frequently find that's true when I come to the end of a story I've enjoyed.
Very much enjoyed and appreciated. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys romantic stories.
