Janet Fremont is a deft hand at writing gentle love stories. She has sixteen posted on SOL.
As I Was Walking in the Park is a well regarded story of seduction. Fremont's narrator is a woman who is brought up short by the experience and maturity of her daughter and she recalls how her own life developed from that same age.
Fremont has neatly drawn characters who gently lead us through their slow seduction of each other over a period of years. This is not a story of a race to a bout of grab and grunt sex. No, it is a story of the slow growth of a lusty love.
Fremont gives the reader a hint that the parents recognize their past may be a prologue of their children's lives. Would that more girls felt free to ask their parents for a vibrator for a birthday gift!
Fremont's stories deserve a wider audience. Ah, we can only hope.
