"The Bach" is sort of a hybrid between a stroke story and a non-stroke incest tale. That is, there's lots of sex, and not a great deal of character development. But there is SOME character development, and you do get some sense of what motivates the characters, so it's not pure stroke story, either. It's much longer than most stroke stories, and there's a bit of romance in here as well. The story doesn't stretch credulity any more than most in this genre; you do have to suspend disbelief a bit, but it's not completely over the top.
Technically it's good, but not great. Where many authors here on SOL sprinkle commas through their writings as though they were some sort of fairy dust that magically makes the story better (and they're mistaken), QM is much more sparing with the use of commas, in fact overly sparing, to the point where occasionally you have to re-read a sentence once or twice to figure out its meaning. Some more commas would help. The Kiwi slang is a bit difficult for a dumb Yank like myself, but Google comes to the rescue and with context you can figure it out.
Overall I liked the story. I especially liked that there's an epilogue--of course, I'd rather see another 30 or 40 chapters instead, but an epilogue that ties up the loose ends is better than to be left hanging. I won't say it's my ATF, but I regard it as better than the average on SOL.
