Reviewed:
First, let me say that I am fairly biased in that I started the Family Feud Universe and this story is set in one of my favorite stories in that universe.
It's only fair that I offer that to you up front as a reviewer.
That means I am intimately familiar with the characters Dave used in his story (with the exception of the Dahlmeyers - his own addition/creation).
What I liked about the story: It offers a tiny little taste of something that happened in one of the character's past. It is a vignette that doesn't waste too much time getting to the 'sex' part. That is something in my own stories I tend to prolong and I like to see short stories deliver this way.
If you are looking for a short story and are a fan of Hard Times (currently at 65 chapters and growing) then this is a nice read.
If you have never heard of the stories in Family Feud - you may not understand who everyone is right off - but I think you can enjoy it as well.
What I did not like about this story:
I thought it was a little too short. I would loved to have seen more from Dave and I know he can stretch himself as an author. This story could have easily been twice as long as told the same chain of events. I want to smell the smells, hear the sounds, taste what the character's taste. I want to be the fly on the wall.
I would have also liked to hear this from the point of view of someone who was present instead of a nameless narrator.
That aside - I think it is a welcome addition to the Family Feud story line and I loved it.
