Looking for long harem/polygamy

contarar ๐Ÿšซ

Hello, I'm looking for a polygamy or harem story/series that is of the longer kind rather than ~20 chapters. I know that there are several well written shorter stories, but I like to really disappear into the stories I'm reading so I want them a bit longer. I've trudged through stories like arlene and jeff, six times a day, reasonable bounds, second time through and three square meals that isnt the best written stories but I've liked them well enough to finish them because they take more than a couple of hours to finish. Just no rape, cheating or gay please!

"Florida Friends" series by Dualwriter. Starts a little slow on the harem/poly issue, but is a looong series that will take you a while.

I've seen florida friends mentioned a few times, the swinging tag always throws me off though.

I'm working my way through the first of these and enjoying it so far

Yes, there are some swinging scenes, mainly up at the hot tub, but most of the stories focus on a couple of polyamorous groups namely Steve's and Chuck's. There is also the older retired guy that takes up with the two retired ladies and the computer genius that forms another poly group.

"Flight of the Code Monkey" by Kid Wigger

Its decently written Si-Fi but with a slightly odd chapter structure that feels like you are reading two completely different stories (as you get very deep into the story it becomes obvious they are converging). One half of the story focuses on a male character that ends up in a polygamous relationship with 3 females. Its up to 55 chapters and counting - its not finished but the author is still updating (seems to be roughly every 6ish weeks atm)

https://storiesonline.net/s/48790/opus-one

Trio of music students at a NE conservatory[M/F/F]; lots of character development, solid plot, lots about what it's like to be very involved with music. Not really focused on any of them as the central character, treats them as an interconnected web right from the beginning.

https://storiesonline.net/series/961/model-student

MC is an art student [drawing/painting] in Seattle. Gradually becomes the central hub of a disparate group of females, all involved in the arts in one manner or another. Again, good character development, good story development, and lots about what being an artist is about. No question about who the story is centered on. After Aroslav posted a few chapters, many of us recommended Opus One to him, as we could see that he was doing with Art what Ryan had done with Music, and we thought that he, if anyone, would get what Ryan had been doing; Opus One is now the first story listed on Aroslav's Favorite Stories page, and he is vociferous in his thanks to those of us who recommended it to him. There were some problems with posting part way through Model Student, so I went to Amazon and purchased teh completed eBook so I could keep reading, which may indicate how much I was getting into the story.

https://storiesonline.net/series/1317/the-adventures-of-art-trange

Also by Aroslav. Haven't actually read them yet, but based upon his stories that I _have_ read, I'm recommending them. [M/F+,B/S incest] Again, MC is a an Art student [drawing/painting]. Has problems expressing himself verbally, and is almost painfully shy. His sister helps as best she can, and hooks him up with another girl prior to his going to college, who becomes their mutual girlfriend. The circle of females expands in the following novels.

No rape, cheating, or gay. No swinging. That's not who these people are. The development of caring, committed, polyamorous relations is a major focus of all of them.

Yeah, Florida Friends gets a lot of recommendations. He's a good writer, I did complete the first story, but the swinging & BBW put me off, so I haven't read any of the others. I also thought he was a little naive about the realities of the business world; very idealistic world view. I wish things worked the way he described, but I really have my doubts.

Thanks for your suggestions, I've had Opus one in my backlog for a while now, and I'll add the 2 you recommended from aroslav aswell. They all seem like great works and I'll get around to them, I'm just not all that interested in music and arts, so I've been putting it off.

Have you read Living Next Door to Heaven by aroslav? I like the tags on it, and it's got a good rating aswell as a size of ~7.5MB
You seem familiar to his works, do you think I'd like this one, no hidden cheatin'n'swingin' tags etc?

While the Music and Art in Ryan Sylander and Aroslav's stories are central themes, skimming over those parts won't destroy the stories; you'll be missing out on some of what I really enjoyed, since I _am_ into Music and Art, and there _is_ story development and character development in those sections, which is why I said "skim" rather than "skip".

Have you read Living Next Door to Heaven by aroslav

I haven't actually read all that many of his works, just enought to know that he's consistent. He doesn't include any of the things you've listed as squicks. He's really into the idea of people forming healthy committed, yet somewhat unconventional [polyamourous], relationships. So no cheating, swinging, hookups, etc. Looking through the story descriptions again, Art shows up a lot.

Looking through the other reviews by the two reviewers of Living next Door to heaven, I found another author you might find of interest. Polyamory, _long_ stories, no swinging, cheating, M/M, rape. Although I'd look over the codes; he doesn't list any of those you've warned us about, but you never know, some of the ones he lists do tend to show up as squicks [one of them _is_ one of mine, and it's in all of his stories, so it happens regularly, which is why I haven't read them]. I haven't read all of the stories he lists as favorites, but those I have I particularly enjoyed, and the others, I recognized their names as being well thought of.

Second Time Through: Series of four books (so far, he finished the fourth one three months ago). It's a do-over [OK, with that title it's somewhat obvious], but since I haven't read them I can't speak to which type of do-over, the goes back and becomes filthy rich due to future knowledge while screwing every girl he meets, or one that isn't wish fulfillment. He _does_ tag it as "some sex", so there is hope it isn't the first type, although reading the descriptions I have my fears. The scores are in the upper 8's, but there have been enough discussions of the "validity" of the scores assigned by SOL's readers that I'm not touching that one with a ten foot pole; enough to say that those who have read it and voted, liked it; it _is_ a decent number of votes, and the number of downloads are nothing to sneer at. Anyway, without having actually read any of his writing, it looks worth taking a look at; you should be able to tell pretty quickly if it will be worth your time or not, and if you _do_ like them, they have some length to them.

Hope that helps!

Second Time Through:

This uses a variation of the theme "get rich with future knowledge and having sex with many different girls"

The MC wakes up in the body of a rich teenage boy that is not related to his older body. Several of the girls he has sex with are related to his new body.

just a correction for future reference. Living Next Door to Heaven by aroslav has swinging

Your series looks great, and I've considered getting into it multiple times, only problem is that the second book has the cheating tag, and while it might not seem like much since it's only in one book out of, what, like 16 books, cheating is kind of traumatic to me and it can ruin my mood for weeks if I've really gotten into the story so I tend to avoid those books like the plague. I've added it to my backlog tho, and I'll probably get around to it eventually, since it's a highly rated series.

Without spoiling things, the cheating is a single incident/occurrence. It Is traumatic, but integral to the growth of several characters.

none of the books in a well-lived life have the cheating tag though, was it removed? and if might I ask why?

Sorry for commenting on such an old post. I look though old posts like these for recs

I use tags sparingly, and try to avoid them for things which occupy a minor part of a book (in this case, a single incident).

Maybe it's just me, but I'd put the 'rape' tag for a single violent rape, tough in this case, I didn't feel the tag was warranted.

Cmsix has a number of Harem stories, but most are incomplete. John Wales has a few long, harem-type stories. Somebody mentioned ElSol -- several of his stories end up with a harem. Several of Colt45's stories are fairly long and end up with a harem as well.

Another one The Best of Both Worlds by Dilettante.

Another one came to mind, but I can't call the title to mind right now. Man winds up in a relationship with a younger girl and an actress. He's a writer. A good part of the story is about how the let their relationship lapse by becoming to involved with their separate lives, then recognize that and fix it.

Then there is Robberhands "Destiny" series. Also, damn near anything by SpacerX.

Honestly read well lived live- it is fucking amazing. I also hate cheating but Michael Loucks introduced it in such way that reader has the feeling that it was needed and it is also explained if my memory is correct. This is currently the best story with apsects of psychology of characters and their growth to adulthood. Definitely must-read.

You might try Gordon Johnson's Reginald series. Currently at seven books and he mentioned another one in the works. It's a bit different, but enjoyably so for me.
