I Think I'm Back!

Posted at

I was challenged by a friend, an author, to jump start my lazy muse. He suggested a quick story of 200 words or under.

It was impossible.

It was too short to start.

It was too short to take seriously, but if you're gonna write you have to take it seriously.

It made me have to sit down and take time to write. I had to get on a daily schedule. I did!

It took me months. I got it done!

I can't tell you what the story is about because the explanation would be longer than the story!

But something did break free. You'll see.

Almost Ready To Come Back

Hi All!

It's been some time since I walked away from my word processor. My muse took a hike and I had not urge to write anything.

That changed a few weeks ago and I'm in the process of writing new stories. I'm working on another O'Dell western and a scifi thing.

Looking forward to begin posting again in 2026.

Hi All

I went back and fixed "There and Back" one of my favorite early efforts. I think it reads better and I fixed a few continuity errors.

Thanks for reading

Hi All

While my muse is still on vacation, I've gone back to the stories I'd written when I was just starting out about 5-6 years ago.

"There and Back" was a favorite and needed extensive corrections and rewording. I have done that.

Now I submit for your reading pleasure, or not, the rewrite of this story.

Thank you for reading my efforts. I hope Muse comes home soon so I can finish the stories I've started.

Another Dark And Stormy Night Redux

Hi All

Way back in the dark ages of my writing efforts I did a quirky little story that some people hated and many, many people loved.

The story is still one of my favorites and I've read it several times. Each time I read it I was not in a place where I culd make correctons that I found. Over this past week I found time.

When it first appeared, people lost their minds because the first three chapters were short and seemed to be similar and the story didn't seem to be moving anywhere....to them. Then chapter 4 hit and low and behold the comments began to flow. It seemed that everyone was enjoying the story and no one could guess where it was going but they were enjoying the ride.

Now that I've fixed the amateurish run on sentences and a few other things, I am proud to present to you "Another Dark And Stormy Night". It should be the last version until you, my beloved readers find more of my errors and clunky sentences.

I'm hoping that somewhere along the way those who voted it a 1 or 2 or 3 will reevaluate.

Thank you s much for letting me share this writing thing with you.

Mick
