Time to admit it...

Posted at

I need help. I know I'm not the greatest writer in the world, and I understand that I make errors. Unfortunately I now have to admit that I can't catch them all by myself.

I need an editor. To any of the authors out there, how do I find one? And most importantly, how do I find an editor who would be willing to put up with my more protracted writing schedule?

I have an idea for a new story, in a new world. And it is an entire departure from anything else I've written so far in that it is going to be a traditional High Fantasy. But given that I can't keep making the blatant errors I have been, before I begin really working hard on it, I'd like to have an editor on board to keep my sloppy ass in line.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Humbling Experiences.

I don't know what to say. In two days Rise has been downloaded over 2000 times. I'm just... Wow. I guess all I can say is, again, I'm still sorry it took so long. But the fantastic feedback I've been getting, and just the sheer numbers of people actually reading it... It really is a set of very humbling experiences.

Thank you all. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

OK folks... I'm sorry!

First off let me say the good news. The final chapter of "Rise" has FINALLY been submitted.

Now, I owe each and every one of you a PROFOUND apology! I never intended for this to take so long! However over the past year I have had my entire life turned on it's head. First, I was offered a job with a MUCH better rate of pay than the one I was working a year ago.

But... There were a few catches involved. First: I had to move across the country to take it, so that threw a monkey wrench in my writing for almost 3 months between flying out, and back, and packing, and moving, and it was just a mess. Second: My new job keeps me away from home 4-5 days a week so there goes any significant writing time right there.

Also My personal life has taken a turn for the better, having met a wonderful woman in what small spare time I can afford myself. So finding time for her became prioritized simply because for the first time in a LONG time I actually feel happy.

There were also some family tragedies to deal with, like the untimely death of my son's maternal grandmother, and my own grandfather's illness getting progressively worse. So needless to say this year has been a tornado of a time for me.

All I can say again, is I'm sorry it took so long. But at last, it is finished.

Thank you again for all of your patience, and your concern for me.

So ummmm... Wow...

This is absolutely unbelievable. "Rise" has had 1500 downloads in less than 24 hours. I guess I underestimated how many people actually wanted to see chapter 6.

This is exceptionally humbling. I never expected to see those kinds of metrics after less than a day. Somehow, this community always seems to find a way to surprise me.

Thank you all so much.

Long Time Coming...

So... To all of you who have been asking about where chapter 6 is, let me first say I'm sorry. Between a VERY busy work schedule, and dealing with some health issues stemming from trying to live stupid, and die young, I have been pretty much stymied. Until today. I have FINALLY gotten to complete chapter 6, and have submitted it for posting. I again apologize for the delay. And for those of who have, for some reason I honestly can't figure out, become my fans, a very heartfelt thank you. The words of encouragement from all of you have made some very difficult times, MUCH easier to deal with.

Thank you all again.
Cheers
