Jake is done. His typos, tense mismatches, cumbersome sentences are currently under scrutiny. It will be posted within the next seven days.

Now that the threads are complete, at least for me, there is the story from one of Jake's Girls that needs to be told. And then... maybe the story of Peter... We will see about that.

Those waiting are going to have to wait a bit longer. While this thread will be shorter than the other two threads... I think... every once in a while Jake fools me and we go in a direction I had not expected... which is what just happened to me. Jake has his own way in the world. I am just trying to chronicle it. :-)

I also have the outlines for two short stories belonging to the Second Thread. The stories' working titles are "The Whale" and "An unlikely Peter." The Wives, and double and triple Jakes are talking to me about that second one at the moment as it affects them.

The first of the two short stories belongs to the first of the Jake's Girls stories. I can see more of those in the future. If I don't bore you all to death!

It is clear to me that there are those who like the thematic material I handle, but it is a small group compared to the huge following other writers have. To those of you who like my stuff and have written to encourage me, I thank you very much.

One correspondent suggested I post the stories as chapters to get more readership, but some of my chapters have no sex, some are only sex... they are not even as the chapters are not formulaic. The story exists as a whole and never leaves my desk in pieces, not ever. I place chapter endings where they make sense to me, but not in a place that makes sense for serialized posting. So while I appreciated the suggestion on boosting readership, I took a pass on the suggestion.

I put the new short story outside Jake's Universe because the story line is totally independent of Jake's life. But there are many people downloading it who have not read my other work and they do not seem to understand the basis for some of the material. The story would not have worked as a longer form piece. Still if I had put it into the orbit of thread #2 I think two things wold have happened. (1) fewer people would have downloaded it and (2) of those fewer a larger percentage would have liked it if only because they would have the reference material understood. As Joy from #2 would have said: bahala na. (I did my best, the rest is up to God.)

The Food Court is a very short piece. It has nothing to do with Jake and really does not belong in that Universe. I am not sure, but I will probably clump it and others like in a collected random stories group.

With any luck I'll submit it tomorrow.

Other than the next and last Jake Thread, still in process, this may be the last good guy piece. I feel like it is time to try my chops on a bad guy... at least one and see how that goes.

Trifecta is part of the Jake Thread #2 world but is sort of a stand alone. We are of two minds here because much background from Jake T2 is not recapitulated in Trifecta. Still it may be possible to read it without Jake T2 under your belt... It would be a very different story for the reader in that case. I'm not ready to recommend that.
