1) This is a FREE site with free stories. You don't pay a cent for reading. meaning I don't get a cent for writing.
Yet I need to eat, pay the light bill and massive medical bills. In order to do pay all this, I need to work. Meaning I have only a little time to write.
So if you don't like what you read, don't read it. No one forces you to read chapter 2 if you think Chapter 1 is garbage.
2) Even the greatest authors and writers have professional editors and you won't see a single line in print until it is edited. And then you pay for that book before you can read it.
3) The Free editors on this site are for the most part amateurs and not very committed. One guy completely re-wrote my story, garbled it up and quit after eight chapters.
Most of them offering edits and then quit, realizing how much there is.
Now I don't blame them, because I can't pay them for their service and able to make demands.
4) I am pressed for time. Extensive editing takes away time from writing.
5) I acknowledge the fact that I need editing, but I need professional editing and that I can't afford both money and time-wise. So I started doing it as suggested in the previous blog.
I have two guys doing it and I am able to compare and apply or don't apply the suggested edits.
Thanks for reading
Vanessa
Dear Friends
thank you for your comments, your support and your offer to help.
How to help with edits and spelling correction.
At the bottom of each chapter is a downloadable txt file.
You can then edit, correct and alter what you think needs improvement or change.
Once you think it's ready go to:
My GalNet Wiki
Click on:
Add new Page
and post it there.
I will then add a category (Here are Renaud edits as an example: https://bgalnet.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Edited_by_Renaud )
I then have a chance to compare it with my version and apply the edits I think need to be changed.
I do this every time a volume is complete)

Regarding Spacebus,
Note to my readers:
While the story of Erica is ongoing and the next chapter is just around the proverbial corner, I decided to post this one-shot-short story, entitled Spacebus to Benton's Colony. I am posting it, as it fits in the timeline.
And might be entertaining to a some of you.
At the same time, I decided not to post "The Hearing" at this point, as the current story will culminate in a very similar chapter, posting both would be confusing.
Hello friends and readers:
Here it comes the next installment of the Erica Olafson Saga in the Galactic Chronicles Series. This is the 9th and the second to last volume in the EO saga.
Roy Masters and Partner follow after that.

If you read my previous blog, regarding my health you may understand why I haven't been as active as a writer as I should.
The other reason is Inkitt.
The German-based company where I "won" a publishing contract. It didn't work out as they promised.
They published three of my novels (but not in sequence) and not edited.
I had no say in the Cover design either.
It was not entirely their fault, as I was unable to communicate after I had my stroke.
However, Inkitt told me, that they have no interest in publishing anything more, as their business model changed towards interactive novels where the readers chose the outcome, and they are only interested in romantic teenage stories.
My core audience is not teenagers, but old fashioned SF fans, and I don't think my stories are compatible with reader decided outcomes.
There were many other issues as well, long story short. A friend told me about Patreon.com.
A site where patrons support your work.
The Patreon format is not the best, for novels but it works!
