================================================================

Eric Thor Olafson Union Citizen,
Born on Nilfeheim October 7th 4999,

Race Affiliation: Terran Human, Narth, Unknown

Eric was born on Nilfeheim to Ilva Olafson ( born Ragnarsson) and Isegrim Olafson, Clan Chief of the Olafson Clan. The Olafson Clan is one of the Old Clans, able to trace their ancestry all the way to the first families that landed on Nilfeheim.

He was the first Born and according to local laws and customs this was a special status.

His father killed his mother right before his eyes when he was five years old and married Gretel Hemstaad. Gretel brought two Sons for Isegrim into the world : Lothar and Tyr.

Isegrim favored Lothar [1]

As a teenager, Eric discovers that he has transgender issues and "female" tendencies.

Eric went through hell as a child and later was rescued by his Grandfather Erik Gustav Ragnarsson and sent to the Halls of Hasvik. Where he meets the Ancient Keeper, his first "Mentor and Teacher"[2]. It is here he meets Siegfrida a real Aseir in disguise as a female keeper who teaches him weapon craft and swords play beyond the abilities of normal mortals.

After he leaves Hasvik his Grandfather is killed by agents of Isegrim , but by will of his grandfather he is now under Uncle Hoguns care. Uncle Hogun his father's brother was a famous and wild Mercenary and he and "Richard" teach Eric more warrior and weapon handling. Richard being a master assassin. An old Nilfeheim clan master teaches Eric to fight underwater.

He then meets the second Mentor, Egill Skallagrímsson the First of the Elders who teaches Eric many things. Via Egill he meets his third teacher and Mentor. "Tyr the White Tyranno" who is much more than a fish."

Eric discovers and defeats a plot to destroy Nilfeheim.

Eric leaves to become a Union Fleet Officer.

When he is accepted to the Academy, Eric is described as: "198 cm tall and weighing almost exactly 90 kilos. His hair is blonde. He has gray eyes and some say he moves with the same purpose and grace as a Tiger or Nubhir Wolf. He has a greater tolerance to freezing temperatures and is able to stay submerged under water for a very long time because of gills and eyes that are adapted to see well under water thanks to a second set of clear eyelids. His muscles are denser than that of a standard human, allowing him to swim longer and deeper. Due to that he has great endurance and is much stronger than he looks."

This originally was to be just a short article for the GalNet wiki, but I kept writing. At the moment it is not cannon, just a What If.. short story. I might change that and include a version of this into the actual Universe but I if you read it, I hope you have as much fun as I had writing it. V.R

A word on what is published

Posted at

A word as to what is published and what is not.

My publisher Inkitt is not a traditional publisher. I won a contest on their site about two years ago and the prize was a publishing contract and 2000 dollars worth of promotions.
They publish according to a logarithm and picked Space Pirate first. This is good for a single book author but not exactly ideal for a series like mine.
But the word publishing sounded awesome so I agreed.
They publish3d Midshipman and black Velvet too, they pulled all prior books like Neo Viking, First Journey and Space Cadet of all sites including sol and fiction press.
They now tell me that they change their business model to an online app with episodic stories where the readers determine the outcome. They are also not sure if they want to publish more in the regular format. I.e. print or ebook. They will let me know by September.
They hold the rights of Eric Olafson and I can not publish the prior or subsequent books here or elsewhere.
All my attempts to get an answer as how many books I have sold so far are ignored and the promised quarterly royalty payments have resulted in one payment last year. Without any sales numbers as how they got the sales.
They told me readers complained that the books were to long and too big, so they split up the three published novels into seven books and the box set.
It does not contain all Olafson books.
Right now they hold the rights to Olafson, they told me they are not interested in Roy or any more material and I am free to post these stories.
I keep you all posted

Answers and appologies

A letter to all my fans and readers.

2017 was a very tough year for me. Many things happened at once. Chiefly I suffered a stroke. A vessel in my brain got clogged and part of my brain was without oxygen.
I sat down to write and suddenly and out if the blue, I could no longer talk, see the screen or type.
My right arm and my entire right side felt dead.
I could no longer swallow.
It was frightening very frightening.
After over a year of intensive SALT , speech and language therapy. After fighting my own body, I am once again able to write and work.
I am not fine but I learned to work with and around my disabilities.
I just begun writing again.
I know I left several stories unfinished, to all this comes the uncertainty as what my publisher is planning next. Currently there is very little in communication.
Many of my questions have not been answered.
So I returned to Stories Online and will post existing stories to remind my readers of the stories and I will continue to write new chapters.
Eric Olafson and his gang are for now off the table as my publisher owns the rights and I am still waiting for guidelines, some transparency and where we are going.
So please accept my appologies for not advancing my stories as fast as I would love.
But I am doing my best.
Thank you all for keeping with me and still remembering me.
Yours truly,

Children of Terra

Volume 1 GCBook 4

(Volume 1 GCBook 4 )

Foreword by the Author

This is the first volume in the Terra Cycle .

The last volume Xeno Activity concludes the Xeno Activity Cycle .

'Children of Earth is chronologically the 4th book of the 37 volumes that make up the novels I have written so far in the Galactic Chronicles Universe .

This universe of mine has grown over the many years and has attracted many readers and friends from all over the globe. If you ever wanted to know more about a certain species or futuristic / alien term simply search for the galactic chronicles GalNet wiki online and chances are that one of the 14,000 plus pages will offer you more back ground.

The wiki contains under the topic "Old Stories " many old versions of my stories as they first appeared on fictionpress.com , for those who like to read or see how it all started and progressed.

Children of Earth, is a story of origin of sorts. While the previous volumes talk about how the Guardian of Earth came to be. Why the Vrill convoluted with the Nazis or why Operation High Jump was suddenly abandoned. This volume before you is a stand alone story as much as it is an entry point into the Galactic Chronicles universe.

For my long time fans it is hopefully a joyful read and a view back in time, while I have the same hopes for all those readers picking up one of my books for the first time.

It begins in a time when Earth and most of its inhabitants are still blissfully ignorant about everything that occurs in outer space.

In this time, no one really knows about Earth . There are no Union battleships , no Union Marines . Neither Richard Stahl , nor Obrock McElligott have been born yet. No one really thinks much about these primitives from Earth. However there is a bunch of Terran teenagers , that are about to chance that...

This book was written under very special circumstances and a very strange time of my life. I might get into the details of that in a future blog post and mention some of it on my Facebook page.

With this is I welcome you to the Galactic Chronicles universe and hope you enjoy your stay.

At Astra, to the Stars,

Yours truly

Vanessa Ravencroft
