About My Student Assistant

Posted at

Like some of my early stories, this one is a mixture of reality and fantasy. I was a systems analyst, and Lynn was my assistant, a real person, much as I described her. There was a luncheon, and I did end up giving her a ride back to work. That's where the fantasy starts. I just took her back to work. Nothing else happened between us.

And I didn't have a Miata,I had a Chevette, but at least it did have a stick shift, and my hand did come close to brushing her leg, which might be why this story stuck in my head for a long time.

About Karma

Wrote this in long hand a few years ago, when I didn't have internet access. I wasn't sure if anyone else would ever see it, so I kinda let myself go a little wild with it. Now that I can share it with the SOL community, I'm glad I saved it. Seems to be doing okay. I have a few more from those dark days that I plan on adding shortly.

The Temptation of Steve

... Temptation... is the first story I've posted in over ten years. I was not at all sure that I even fit in here anymore, with all the illustrated stories and covers, and novel-length works that seem to be so popular now. But, so far it's doing all right, lots of downloads for three days, and a good rating (by my standards), so I'm encouraged enough to keep going. I should have a second story ready to post in a week or so.

Our shared agony

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." - Maya Angelou

I'm sure a lot of this share that special agony, me included. After not being able to access the internet for ten years, I now am eager to share the dozen or so stories that I wrote in long hand during that time. I had just gotten well into the first of those when hurricane Milton blew through and left us powerless for five days (sigh). Project number one is to finish the first of those, and probably pass it on to a kind editor, because I know my skills might be a bit rusty.

I'm back again

That was what I said in my last blog, then I disappeared for 10 years (not by choice). One of the first things I did when I got my internet access restored was to ask the nice folks at SOL if I could resume using my old author name, and they were kind enough to agree,so here I am, again. I've been rereading my old stories, since it's been a long time since I've seen them. Some of them are cringe-worthy, but others are good enough to encourage me to go ahead and start working on some of the dozen or so ideas that have been rattling around my head. BTW, just a reminder, if you are curious about those old stories, you will need to change your content access level to "Full".
