Is there anyone out there who'd like to clue me in on parachute training in the UK military? Particularly HALO, but generally the whole process - how long, where (perhaps) and so on?
I would like for one of my characters to 'enjoy' the training.

The final chapter of Ginger is in the posting queue. If you want to hear more from them, I'm open to suggestions. I think there's likely to be some crossover with Delilah and the inhabitants of Woodside Lodge, but we'll see.
I've had a couple of queries about the idiom 'early doors'. It refers, logically, to being up and ready very early, earlier than usual, that is. I believe originally it referred to be waiting at the door of the pub when it was due to open so as to be first to be served, but that's open to dispute. Just to say, no, it's not a typo or a misprint.

Recently a reader of my Devastation Diaries commented that it's been eight months since my last DD post. This is partly because my general output has been very low, but I have been working on an idea and the first chapter of Dairy Farm should appear in the next 24 hours. There are four chapters in this entry, and potential for linking in to other strands. In particular I want to follow on to Verity. But we'll see.
Readers of Ginger, there is a fourth chapter in editing, but I've written myself into a practical corner. Any ideas how I can get a platoon of SF and a couple of kids out of occupied Ukraine?

The third chapter is in the posting queue. If anyone has any good suggestions about what might happen in the next I'm open to ideas! Since I'm a bit stuck at the moment, I will be posting a new Devastation Diary entry in due course.
