Used to be (back when I was young, and dinosaurs roamed the earth) we got snow every year. In fact, the year we moved into this house, it snowed on December 4th and there was snow on the ground until Easter. But nowadays, snow is an occasional thing. This one the Met office got right, almost. Instead of my permitted daily walk, I escorted my wife up the hill to the hospital for an investigation and came home. I didn't think it'd be very pleasant sitting in the park in the snow with my coffee, so I've got my own coffee (which is better anyway) in a warm room with the stove glowing red.
I expect I'll have to go and fetch her when it's done. But - shock, horror - we're both scheduled for our Covid Jabs this afternoon. That was a surprise, as I thought we were well down the list. I expect they have their reasons.
I hope my readers are happy to hear I'm on the fourth chapter of a Devastation Diary entry, currently titled 'Penny's Promise'. I don't suppose I'll get much done on it today, and since I'm not sure where it's going it might be some time.
For now, keep safe, stay home if you can and enjoy your coffee/whisky/bourbon/whatever.

Let us hope that 2021 is a great deal better than 2020...
I'm sitting in a warm room with a blazing fire, cup of good coffee, Christmas tree. I'm much better off than many people. On the debit side my backache has returned for no apparent reason and, of course, I haven't seen my sons, daughter-in-law or granddaughters for months. That aside, though, there's the hope that the new vaccines will control the infection that has dominated our lives for the last year.
Perhaps we can hope for surcease from the political turmoil of 2020 too?
To my readers, thank you! I'm sorry that my motivation has diminished, but I do have several potential stories bubbling away, and I've just started thinking about a sequel to 'Rachel'. I know some readers have wondered what became of her after Robert died. Several other series or individual stories are nagging for follow-up.
But bless you all, and I hope to hear from you and how you're getting on.

Remember where Dulcie began? She's going to meet the mother she last saw about twenty years before. It's another challenge. And since problems never come alone, another troubled woman needs help.
The latest episode in Dulcie's life - five chapters which I will post every other day.
Hopefully, this'll be an early Christmas present. I look forward to your comments!

I've just submitted a short, one chapter story in my Dryad series. My muse insisted, despite several others in progress.
Hope you enjoy it.

I've begun posting 'Sharlene'. There are five chapters in all, which will appear alternate days as usual. I began the story after posting 'The Older Woman', but stuck halfway through chapter 2. As a result, "I'm a Believer" and "Dulcie's New Challenge" got posted before, though they are chronologically later. There is obviously potential for a continuation of Sharlene's story, but I think that will pick up rather later. We'll see.
Thank you to the many who have expressed interest in the spreadsheet, and to those (some of them the same!) who have responded to my 'RIP Diana Rigg'.
Bless you all.
Ted
