Chapter 41 is in the queue for Saturday morning. I'm curious to see if the number of jaws that drop as well as the sudden intake of breath that you all take when you read this chapter actually will have a butterfly effect around the globe.

And this is just the setting things up chapter ...

Unrelated, real life gave me a kick in the ball this week, which means I'm no longer the most honest car salesman in Oklahoma. (That was what my poker buddies called me, and also tells you what I did for a living.) So, I'm now going to be spending a lot of time over the course of the next month or so doing online training, so I can get my real estate license. After this week, I have a ten chapter buffer, because I really haven't done much this week other than wonder what the hell hit me. Many of you are my age or older, and you know how our generation tends to invest themselves into our jobs.

Fortunately, I've almost a decade of car sales experience, and I've also been self-employed, too, so I'm well aware of everything that can get in the way of being a realtor. The minor detail that my wife earns more than enough in her job means that we can make it through the six to nine months of getting started and not making much income.

Also, I've re-uploaded Chapter 39. Amazing how many errors creep in that can only be picked out by someone who has to listen to the story instead of being able to read it with his own eyes. Thanks, Soronel.

Thanks to Soronel, the errors that crept in that Jim and I missed should all be corrected in the first 8 chapters of Book Two. They were minor ones - missing a modifier, or something similar (about instead of out, for example). If you're read the chapters already, there's effectively no change.

I stayed awake well past my usual bedtime last night. At 12:31 AM CST, I used my iPhone to snap a picture of my stats screen. 500,000 total downloads, of all my stories. Thank you for thinking that the words I've ... well, I can't really say I've put on paper, but you know what I mean ... have been worthy of your time to read.

So, a shout-out to RebelSympathyzr9, for his email of congratulations. I think you must've been watching.

And so, here's Chapter 39, as my way of saying thanks. And yes, there's a LOT of stuff that happens in this chapter. I hope you enjoy it.

I really did NOT have Deadpool in mind when I wrote this chapter. It just may seem that way. I think it's because using humor to project your point makes it easier to do.

I'm still on my internal schedule of where I want to be with this story, so no roadblocks that way. I'm having ... not difficulty, but something else ... because while I've already written about birthday celebrations, which is something that Cal can understand, I'm also writing right now about Christmas. Which is religious based, and everyone knows how Cal feels about religions.
