Happy New Year - aka RTFB

Posted at

I think we're all well aware that 2020 wasn't exactly what you'd consider a stellar year as far as a lot of things are considered. So, with that in mind, let's simply close the door on that year, and let us never speak of it again.

After all, it's not like we're in the midst of a global pandemic, having our elected officials acting like they're feudal lords instead of civil servants, or seeing the United States more divided than it's been since, oh, March of 1861, right?

On the brighter side of things, apparently somehow or another, I've managed to create an alternate universe that has captivated a decent number of readers, with each chapter averaging about 10,000 downloads in the first week it's been posted, and averaging about 17,000 downloads over time.

RTFB - Read the fracking blog: Chapter 59 is in the queue for Saturday morning. Chapter 60 will be posted 01/09/2021. That will be the last chapter for Book Two. I am working on Book Three. I will NOT begin posting it here on SOL until I have 15 (preferably 20) chapters complete, so at the absolute earliest, you're looking at the end of February. When Book Three is complete, it WILL be posted on Bookapy. That will probably not be until around the middle of April. I am NOT retired, so I do not write full time. I just finished my 45 hours of initial CE, so I will no longer be a provisional sales associate, I will be a regular sales associate, working full time, selling real estate.

(That does mean if you're in the OKC area, which I know a couple of you are, and you get someone else to help you with a new house, I'll be mightily disappointed.)

In summation - this year isn't as bad as some of those our parents and grandparents (and even some of you really old farts on here) have lived through in the past. It's a New Year. Look at it with life, love, hope, and optimism. Remember, sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel isn't the light on the train engine!

HA! My evil reversal plan worked!

When I was growing up, I was a Bengals fan. Even though Chicago was closer, um, I just never liked (and still don't, so pile on the hate mail) the Bears. And don't even get me started on St. Louis.

I had hoped that by publicly saying that the Steelers would have an easy time, that the Bengals would prove victorious. And it worked! MUAH-HA-HA-HA-HA!

Merry Milestone Bonus Chapter

Didn't expect this at all. Book Two just hit 500 sold copies. Thank you all. Chapter 57 is now in the queue for tomorrow morning as my thank you. (Monday Night Hand Egg is about to start, so I want to see how easily the Steelers can beat the Bengals.) That'll put Chapter 58 for Boxing Day. You all have a great week!

Violence warning for snowflakes

Chapter 56 is in the queue for Saturday. To phrase it politely, there is some violence in this chapter where the descriptions are rather graphic. This is not done in a gratuitous way, but fits into the storyline and plot.

I get a chuckle out of the commercials a local men's clinic, because they advertise that 'women don't want soy boys, they want real Oklahoma men. You're not a snowflake, so don't melt when it's time to perform.' It's amusing, but I figured I ought to give folks a bit of a warning about the upcoming violence.

Now, it's up to you to figure out if I'm talking about the book.

A Birthday Present that works

We did my birthday party today, since it's rather inconvenient to do so in the middle of the week. My son got me a pair of EnChroma over the glasses sunglasses. These are designed for outdoors, so they don't work as well under natural light. I'm red-green color blind.

Not with these on. I can see colors to a certain extent, but I get a lot of them mixed up. I can typically tell the bright red paint of a fire truck, but the red leaves on a holly bush looked brown to me. Same thing with blue and purple. I've always been able to see shades, and I've just gone with, okay, that's what you all say is green, so I call it that.

Now I can actually see it, and process it correctly. I'm not as color blind as a lot of guys, so it wasn't a crying moment, but ... damn. They're not cheap - $200 - $300 a pair. But ... colors. I almost can't wait for the next rainbow, so I can see more than three colors in one.
