Apparently this is the one that I could get sick after receiving. I thought I was already sick - or maybe that's just perverted.
('That's Per-Vected!' 'Shut up, Aahz!' 'Aahz?' 'No relation.')
Got my first listing this past week, with four showings so far and a one seriously thinking about making an offer. We'll see. I may have it priced too high, but one thing I learned selling cars - you can always go DOWN, but it's damned tough to go UP!
That may be why I'm perverted, I've always enjoyed going down, at least with women. (Sort of unrelated - apparently the woke society has gone even further cuckoo. A 'man' who has NOT had surgery but claims to be a woman got arrested and sent to a WOMEN'S prison - where 'he' then raped other inmates. And Oregon has a legislator who has introduced a bill to ban diesel fuel in that state. Seriously - Oregon HB 3305 would do that. WTF is wrong with people these days? ... Yes, that's a rhetorical question.)
I've had several emails about this, so here's the thing.
In OUR actual real history, the Aleuts lived at Adak, Atka, and Nikolski in the US, and Nikolskoye in the Soviet Union. When WW2 rolled around, the government took over Adak and built the base there that later on became Adak NAS. Most, but not all, of the natives were relocated, with a few being 'civilian' contractors. (We're talking a couple of dozen or so, total.) After the war, they were still there, and expanded a little (around 80 - 100 in the mid 80's, which, compared to the 6,000 or so squids and families, weren't really noticeable) When the base closed due to BRAC in the '90's, everything was sold to the Aleut Corporation, and several hundred Aleut people now live there.
The NAS runway is 7,790 feet long. It is asphalt surface, with a PCN of 49/R/B/X/T. A Boeing 737-200 has an ACN of 200. The P-3 Orion was stationed there and used for anti-submarine patrols. MTOW of that plane is 135,000 pounds. MTOW of a 737-200 is 128,000 pounds.
In Cal's history, we didn't kick most of the Aleuts off the island in WWII, so there's a little over three times the number of Aleut people there in 1985 than would have been there in OUR 1985, and that's really the only difference.
Just put Chapter TWO in the queue for Saturday morning (CST) posting. As I mentioned, it's going to be every TWO weeks, at least until I can get Book Three done. I'm trying, but Real Life (tm) does interfere.
Especially now that the real estate season is breaking loose. I spent almost all day today getting things ready for a lady so I can hopefully list her house for sale on Friday, Tuesday at the latest. And then deal with it selling within a week, because that's how hot the local market is staying right now.
I have now uploaded cleaned up and edited EPUB and MOBI files to Bookapy of A True History Book One. They have been checked with Sigil and Calibre and should work. I specifically took each HTML file and made it an individual chapter, and created the TOC as well.
Please let me know if you have issues with them. My understanding is that if you purchased the book, you can download the file again even after I've changed it. I just write the stuff, not run the website that hosts them. Thank you.
An fully edited and cleaned up Book 1 is up and reloaded, the whole thing, and I'll have the updated EPUB for Bookapy uploaded shortly.
Nothing has changed as far as the plot or anything else, this just cleans up certain sentence structure errors that were missed.
