Before writing some stories that scratched my itch, I was a reader here and elsewhere. Deidre, Caesar, Scouries, Ronbo, Rlfj, Switch Blayde, Lubrican, ElSol, Wayne Gibbous, Lazlo, Nick Scipio, and many others have entertained me, made me think a bit, and helped inspire me to write a few things down.

Fidèle is a truly wonderful story by Barahir. He's created several characters that now almost a week after the final epilogue, I'm still thinking about, debating, and rereading. I almost never reread long stories. Too many other things to read. I've read the (no spoilers) ending several times now, and in fact, went back and started rereading the whole thing. It's that good. If you haven't taken a look, you should.

It's been a while but the itch needed scratching, so Neighbors a month or so ago. Since then the world has changed and I kept thinking about what locking down a city or a state would mean. In real life and well, here. Authors who want to contribute, please reach out.

I've noticed a severe drop-off in feedback since story Comments and the portal inbox were turned on. I certainly understand why both were enabled and have no problem with their implementation. However, where I used to get 15-20 emails, now I get 1-2, maybe 4 for a new story.

It might be that I'm writing shorter one-off stories instead of multi-chapter epics, or maybe that I'm just not capturing the interest of as many readers. I guess we'll see going forward.
