Had fun writing it, but it's finished.
After yet another week on the road, I can go back home and work on what's going on with the other people. There are chapters to both the remaining stories in the hands of my ever faithful editor right now, and I have ten hours of driving tomorrow during which Dorable may give me ideas for new directions in both groups.
Plus, as is my usual case, I have some ideas percolating for a new story.
As always, thanks for reading.
The life of a 'for free' writer on SoL, contrary to what you might expect, it's not a series of parties and galas and cavortings with international supermodels. Or even hamburgers across the table from brunettes with crazy smiles and goofy senses of humor.
Sadly, it's coming home from a real job that keeps the lights on and industry going in America, and it's making a meal, eating, doing domestic things, then sitting down and hoping that one's muse, the irreplaceable Dorable, is in a mood to tell stories.
That;s reality. This week's reality is a five hundred mile drive, a couple of days looking at some of that decaying infrastructure and deciding how best to throw three or four hundred thousand dollars of private-sector money at it so that the people up north can keep their lights on.
and I'm hoping that in that long drive, Dorable comes up with some good ideas and wants to talk about them.
Dorable? Five-two. Blonde hair. Kinda plump in sthe sexiest of ways. Oh so delectable. And moody.
And there is a wrap-up chapter of Becky at the editor's place.
Traveling is over, at least the 'go get groped by TSA then stuff yourself in an aluminum tube and go' variety.
Dorable's being a bit more cooperative.
Somebody made a comment about Nikki and her triangle, featured regularly in the Community's music fests.
I found a clip on YouTube that gives you some idea of what goes on in MY head when I think about them playing Cajun music.

After traipsing through Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, and the airports in Arizona and Colorado, I needed to revisit my Cajun roots. This is what happens.
Trying to get some writing done, but Dorable's not being too cooperative. Next week sees me leaving home early Monday morning, then flying to the upper midwest, then back down a state, flying home on Friday.
I tend to write sporadically when I'm in a hotel room, but I'll try to get something done. I'm pushing Dorable for a chapter of Becky before I leave. And we still ahven't finished with Mister Charlie's visit to Munchkin Central.
The ideas are there. I just need Dorable to flesh 'em out for me.
And if you haven't yet nominated for the Clitorides, if I'm worth the effort, please take the time.
Thanks

North Dakota right now. Previously, Minnesota. Had a reminder of lessons learned as a young soldier on the Korean DMZ in winter as I navigated from the terminal to a rental car, then drove fifty-odd miles through blowing snow to visit one of my company's facilities.
It's 0 degrees F outside right now, headed for -10 in the morning.
I just posted a chapter of Becky. It's the last of my post-Christmas romp with Dorable. I'm doing a lot of traveling in the next few weeks, so posting may be sporadic. Dorable doesn't deal well with me traveling.
In the meantime, nominations are open for the Clitorides awards. If you think my stories meet the challenge, nominate your favorites.
