Alas, we have lost a great one. Ernest died on 7.16.2022. His great stories drew me back to re-read time and time again. Had he published commercially he would have been on multiple best seller lists. Rest in piece.
Thanks to some fellow SOL readers who told me Depression Soup is here on SOL. Look for author Wordy Tom.
We have a whole bunch of great stories by some generous writers here at a Stories on Line.
Over at the sister site, Fine Stories, I ran across a great tale, Depression Soup by TC Allen. Story of an Oklahoma farm boy's life during the great depression and dust bowl era. This gives a powerful look at a different life here in America.
No sex or bad language so it would be fitting for parents as well as kids or grandkids.
Just in case some of you missed Starfleet's post, Book 3 is available on Bookapy. So, you ask "Why should I spend $5.99 when I can just wait and read it for free?"
First, buy the book. Writers deserve something for the great stories they have posted and the entertainment they have provided.
Second, the continuity. No more having to stop an think, ok, where was I and who is that?
Third, be as creative as Carl and come up with your own reason.
I spent the weekend in Charlotte N.C. with a family reunion. Driving home, I passed several signs pointing the way to the Charlotte airport. Have I spent too much time on the internet? For some reason, signs pointing the way to CLT did not make me think of an airport!
But then again, many a young man could use a sign pointing to the Clit! Maybe a public service for you ladies.
So asked the California Governor yesterday after the San Jose shooting. I've lost track of the number of people killed and the number of times someone went crazy with a gun.
