Chapters 8 and 9 are up. Again, Chapter 8 ends in a bit of a cliffhanger. I didn't want to do that to you over the holidays.

Santa Max offers two chapters at once instead. Chapter 9 is also very long, more than double a typical chapter. It is also a little more roughly edited. My editor had time for about half of it. I went over the rest of it on my own, so take it easy on me if you see errors. We'll get it edited and re-uploaded if needed.

Now, this means I won't be posting a chapter for 3-4 weeks as I try to get caught up writing ahead again. Chapter 10 is finished and awaiting edits. I'm about halfway done with Chapter 11.

Chapter 7 is submitted and should be in your hands as you read this. I wanted to give a status update as well. Special thanks to mitchell.0621 for his editing skills and advice on the story.

The plan right now is to give you a bit of a Christmas bonus, and no, it's not a membership to the the Jelly of the Month Club. On Dec. 20, I plan to release chapters 8 and 9 together. Chapter 8 would end on quite a cliffhanger. I don't want to do that to you at Christmas. So, Santa Max is handing out a bonus chapter. A REALLY BIG one. Chapter 9 is very long and very involved. I hope you love it.

Now, having said all that, I have less positive news. Bringing you two chapters at once means I'm going to take a longer break after that. You'll get chapter 10 3-4 weeks after. I am finishing up chapter 10 this weekend and I no longer have the 3-chapter lead I had on you earlier. I have to get a bigger lead once again, and I need that time around the busy holidays anyway.

This means no whining about going a little longer without a new chapter. We clear on that? Excellent.

Enjoy chapter 7 and look forward to your Christmas bonus. I'm excited about where the story is headed and I hope you are as well.

AAATSL Chapter 5 is through edits and will be in your hands Friday. Mitchell.0621 is killing it on the edits.

I'm pleased to see the feedback and big download numbers for a simple little story that doesn't contain a ton of sex (so far).

I used my extra hour of Daylight Saving on Sunday to finish up chapter 8 and get a good head start on chapter 9. The overall pace is going to shift gears, and BIG things will be happening in those chapters. (Bring a helmet)

It's good to be back in the swing of things. Chapter 3 of AAATSL II will be published Friday. If you're lucky, maybe even early in the day. I just got it back from my editor, mitchell.0621. He's doing a really nice job. He's got chapter 4 in his hands already.

I was writing chapter 6 and noticed it had stretched to 44 pages. I generally write in Google Docs, and shoot for right around 25 pages per chapter. That was getting very long, so I found an obvious place to chop it and made it into quite a bit of chapter 7. That's where I ended up today. It's 2/3 finished.

I've been really happy with the comments and the downloads and the score. It's good to see some of the same names reading the new book and dropping their thoughts and predictions. One of the thoughts centers around Shelby. One person commented that she's comparable to G. Younger's "Tammy." I have to confess, I haven't read his books, so I am familiar with the "Tammy Troupe," but I can only say that Shelby is her own person in my mind. She's not really a manipulator.

Some of the overall themes of this book will be exploration, discovery and finding the self. That doesn't just mean Jake. Many other characters will find out more about themselves, grow and change as teens. Shelby will be no exception. We may even discover some redemption for other characters along the way.

Once again, the plan is to publish a new chapter every other Friday. So far, we're on pace to hit that. Life comes at you sideways though. Something could come up, so I make no promises. For now, please enjoy a chapter every other week and keep up the feedback.

Thanks to everyone who has read the first chapter, and even those who went back to read Book I again or for the first time. I do recommend reading Book I first.

Special thanks to my new volunteer editor, mitchell.0621. He's doing a great job and making the editing process much less painful.

Book II is going to be a slow burn, with Jake growing more as a person in a different kind of relationship that will test him sorely. If you're looking for hot sex, you'll be waiting a while. So will Jake. Poor kid.

Anyway, I just finished chapter 5 today and I got a decent start on chapter 6. The plan will be to release a new chapter every other Friday. I make no promises though. For now, there's enough material to get us into November. Hopefully I can keep cranking it out at this pace and stay well ahead of my planned publishing dates. But life throws things at you from time to time, and anything could happen. Please be patient between chapters and we'll all get to the end together.
