Winter is settling in good now. The cold front, out of the South Atlantic, struck Cape Town a few days ago. Now it is heading inland, and we can feel it here in the north. Morning temperature around 3c here, and the Red Head reports 0c on the farm, only 12 kilometres away.

A new dawn, or is it "night?" Well this time it will be a dry, unforgiving desert, rightfully named: The Skeleton Coast! Our hero will find himself in deep water. (I'm not allowed to say, SH&T.) Yes, water, sand, and what about the fire-eater red head? What about "Blood diamonds," or "Conflict diamonds?" Is there really "ICE" in the desert?

Find out for yourselves. Chapter 1 of "Desert Rose," will be up later today. As usual, your input and comments will be appreciated.

It had to end. Somewhere along the line, we all knew that the end was insight. So here is the last chapter in the Stray Cats Hunt in Darkness story. It was a fun writing it and the feedback I received was good. I thank you for all the comments and emails. It is, as always, appreciated. I don't write in a vacuum. There are readers out there, and I like getting feedback from them. From the USA to as far as Ukraine, Vietnam, and too much to mention here. You know who you are. Thanks.

Good news: The next story is in the oven. Chapter one is halfway, baked so far. So, watch this space. All I can say is: Something new, something fresh… and there may just be a red head involved.

And here with us, we had no autumn. Winter was just down on us with vengeance. One day shorts and t-shirts, the next, winter woollies!

And we did survive the 21st minute, of the 21st hour, of the 21st day, (of June) in the 21st year, of the 21st century! Some noticed, some did not… but it was that time as well.

I can see (MORE) clearly now...

Well, I did not think Nadia's witty remark and Dave's response to it would evoke such debate! The mailbox was overflowing, and even some comments came in.

So, what did I do? (LOL) A quick search on Google. Well it seems like the song by Johnny Nash went a far way. There are covers by Jimmy Cliff, Ray Charles and even Bob Marley. AND I like them all!
