Hi again from Sunny South Africa! Well not so sunny right now, as we are having a lot of rain of late. Thanks, El Nina! Your four-year cycle is truly felt.
So far so good, and I am back up again and full of life. Thank you for all the well-wishes. It is appreciated.
Now! I wanted to get about three or four chapters of “Sound of Thunder” done, before I published it, but due to some convincing from my Editors, here goes chapter one of “The Sound of Thunder.”
Just a few words concerning the story: It is a continuation of Ash and Angie’s life and mixed in a few of the older characters of previous stories. YES, Grumpy “Charley” and the Angels are back. This time around all five of the Angels will partake in the story.
The story plays out in the Western Cape, and some remote fantasy place that is not on any maps. Some names of places will be unfamiliar to some Readers, but I just know you are going to Google it. The plot will be complex. The Crime Gangs and Street Gangs on the one side, with a sinister second plot that will only reveal itself later in the story. So don’t ask too many questions right now. It will be fun to see how things are going to play out. Some unlikely alliances will be formed, just to shatter again later.
Through it all, Angie and Ashwin’s love will grow, and go through some spirited times.
PLEASE, this is a very technical story, and I might not be able to publish a chapter every week. That is why I wanted to get three or four chapters done before publishing. I know you will understand and thank you for it. (Chapter two is now about halfway done.)
I hope you will enjoy this one as much as the others.
Be good, stay safe and stay out of mischief!
Bye 4 now.
Hi to ALL. Yes, make no mistake, this December was one that I don’t need to do over. Anyway, what happened to December? Looks like I missed it completely.
Well, fear not, I am better and back again. Let us try the new year and see how it goes, AND no more hospital food for me or anyone that it is not made for!
So, the curtain falls on Desert Rose. Herewith the last chapter for you. I tied my best, but it looks like Charley, Ash, and Angie has got some ideas of their own. Let us hope that that Ideas get to be told to us in a future story…
Thanks to my editors for putting up with me and do the magic that made Desert Rose and Stray Cats what they were.
This time around, let us see what is cooking in the pot on the stove. I say nothing more. Let's just play it by Ash’s words: “I’ll just close my eyes, and you’re in my dreams… and there you will be… until we meet…”
So long for now!
Keep the shiny part topside, and the rubber side down…
So, where have I been, and did you miss me? It all began about 10 to 12 days ago, when I got caught up in the mother of all rainstorms. The RH and me, were getting back home at bout 20:00, when this storm hit right across our valley. No warning, just crash boom!! And it was there.
Opening gates and garage doors, while trying to see through the veil of icy rain, meant no joy, and thus I was left drenched. Needless to say, I lost 10 to 12 days of my time, as I was hospitalized with Pneumonia. I am only starting to feel a little better now.
I did ignore about all my mails while confined to bed with a huge Oxygen mask plastered over my face. I did not feel like anything, and with Drip packs attached to both my arms, I did not feel like typing. I can tell you, it just feels funny to pick up a cell phone, and it weighs like a brick.
So, where do we go from here? Well, let me finish the last chapter of Desert Rose. Get it edited and posted. Then we will see what the future holds.
Good, the lions did get a meal. Yes, it is true, there are a few desert lions about in the Namib. Sometimes these animals goes for weeks without a decent meal. No wonder if an opportunity arise, they would take advantage thereof. But that left a question: Did the lions take out old Adolf, or did Max took old Adolf out, and then the lions happened to come across the meal. And if Max did not take Adolf out, how are Max doing to explain what happened to Adolf. Would you believe him?
Well, let’s keep that until the next instalment. We will get answers to most our questions. But the biggest question of all; Ash and Angie? What seems to be cooking there?
Chapter 26 will be available later today.
Stay good and stay safe!
Bye 4 now.
LOL!!! Did I have a great time with all the emails and comments. Even some of my editors tried to rent-a-hit, after the chapter where Angie got shot. And then the long-drawn-out scene changes, before Ash got to be at Angie’s side! That had me thinking that some readers just skipped over those parts to get to find out if Angie was alive or not…
I thought by now, the readers would have known that I won’t kill off a main character. But yes, the playing on words were awesome. I wish I could let you see the one email I got. Unfortunately it is in Afrikaans and to translate it to English would have been different to the colourful meaning in Afrikaans. Also, my blog entry where I played on words about some characters needs to "GO." In short, I was called an A$$hole, and a pig neck something! LOL. (That guy is okay again. He reached his heart pills in time. LOL)
Well, I just love the feedback and told my biggest critic (The Redhead, my wife) to NEVER AGAIN suggest a curve-ball like that.
Well, if all goes to plan, chapter 25 will be available later today. (No curve-balls this time, or maybe, a small little one.)
Please enjoy and see if you can spot a line with a double entendre. Only one of my editors spotted it! So far, he won the cigar!
Be good, stay safe and keep reading.
Bye 4 now!
