Today's chapter covers the following day after Lori and Peter spend the night together for the first time. It's satisfying for a lot of reasons, but no spoilers from me.
Thanks go out to everyone who's been keeping up to date. I got a lot of notes about my health and I DO seem to be starting to recover. Being asthmatic and diabetic, when I get a chest infection, it hangs on forever. For reference, the last one gave me a chance to read all of Penguintopia's AWLL right up to Book 9 before I could take a deep breath. So I may suffer through most of the summer in short-breath. LOL
I just put chapter 14 in line for posting. It should be up soon. This is a really beautiful chapter and shows the deepening of Peter's relationship with Lori. It's really the chapter you've all been waiting for, as Peter starts to settle into a life that doesn't revolve around loss and depression.
Now, a word on my health. I'm not doing so hot. It's nothing life-threatening, but there's something not right in my chest and it hurts to breathe. I get chest infections from time to time and for someone who's already asthmatic, they suck the life out of me, leave me drained and hurt my ability to focus. My writing's been suffering because of it, so I've been focusing on proofing some of what I have as I struggle back to normal. I'm hoping to have something ready for the final edits in the next week or so, but that's been true for about a month now. LOL
In all seriousness, I think I'm within about 50 pages of complete on a new work called Trading Up. John's done a quick pre-read on what I have so far and his reactions to the characters was everything I could have hoped for. One character that gets a brief mention at the end of Third Time is one of the pivotal characters in Trading Up, so it's a fun little connection.
Many of you have been wondering what the new change in Pete's life is since the end of the last chapter and the wait is over. No spoilers from me, but this represents the march toward the end of Peter's struggles and the Happily Ever After that he's searched for all along.
Thanks again to everyone for all your support. I still feel pretty sick, but one of my maladies seems to be lightening the load some.
Today marks the start of SOL's very own internal messaging system. It's kind of an awesome feature to have and I'm looking forward to it. I know a lot of you already have my email and feel comfortable staying in touch that way. For those that don't have it, it's CaptainDynaball@gmail.com and I DO reply to everyone.
Lately, I've been heavily delinquent on my email due to some health issues that are getting me down. Nothing alarming. I've just been too knocked down by illness to concentrate on much beyond reading, proofing and doing a speck of fresh writing here and there.
I just put this week's chapter up for posting. This is a bit of a clean-up chapter and bridges the gap between Peter's old life and the beginning of his new one. The next several chapters were interesting to me and I hope you find them equally engaging.
Thanks to everyone who reads, writes, votes and supports me. I'm still lagging behind on my email responses, but I'm trying to do better.
