I just submitted chapter 4 to the moderators so it should be up shortly.
As always, I really appreciate all the feedback I've gotten and sometimes it really does affect the story some. Often, I'll message people back and discuss a scene that seems off to them. Sometimes I explain what mindset the characters were in or point out that it makes more sense in later chapters when new information surfaces. Sometimes though, it really does make me look back and understand that I missed something.
So please! Keep messaging me and keep enjoying the story.
I also want to take a moment to thank Penguintopia for giving me a lot of the inspiration and motivation to write this and start posting it. For those of you that aren't familiar with his work, check out his SOL page. A Well Lived Life is one of my favorite works on this site and I cherish it enough to have wanted to give back in some small way with this.
New chapter tomorrow, promise.
I just submitted chapter 3 to the moderators.
I want to sincerely thank everyone that's given me feedback on the story including the criticism of the parts that you weren't as thrilled with. Sometimes it's been just a matter of something that will be clarified in a later chapter, but in at least one case, it led to me doing a minor rewrite to address the question of how quickly Lana fell for Matt.
Thank you all for helping me to make the story even better.
Chapter 2 is uploaded and available. A huge shout-out to my editor, Justin Mix, for all his help in helping me identify all the missing words, misplaced punctuation and sentences that needed medical attention.
I want to thank everyone who sent me feedback yesterday after my first post and to everyone who voted. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and I continue to welcome criticism. If you loved the story, I want to know. If you hated it, I want to know. If there was something that made you laugh out loud or touched you or brought you back to a moment of grief in your own life, I want to know. Email me, review the story, share what stood out to you. I appreciate it all.
Thanks. Looking to post Chapter 3 tomorrow sometime, so stay tuned.
Just posted the first chapter of my first story. Book one is titled "Collars". Each book is named for something central to the story of that particular book.
I'll be posting chapters on a daily basis until I catch up to my editor, Justin Mix, who's been a huge help in getting the story polished for publication here. I hope everyone enjoys reading this not-so-little tale as I'm enjoying writing it.
