December 2021 Update

Finally, I can say, "Merry Christmas!"

And with that, I present a new chapter for Free Magus. I fail to recall where my personal stories ended and I haven't bothered looking into my last blogs, so...

So, new chapter. Chapter 8 to be correct. Chapters 9 through 11 are available on my Patreon account.

I'm about half finished with chapter 12 and have fairly solid plans for the next few chapters after that. Unfortunately, the rest of the book is only a vague outline. That will change as these chapters evolve.

Damn. It feels a lot like when I wrote my first story. A lot of by-the-seat-of-my-pants writing.

Really funny part is, I get more writing done at work, saving the files on my google drive, than anything I get done at home anymore.

Hopefully, I'll get another chapter done before New Years. Not the whole story, but more of it.

Enjoy!

Update November

Hey all.

I know it has been several months. My last job literally left me too tired day in and day out to do much more than think. Finding time to write was out of the question.

That ended last August, when I tested positive for Covid.

Well, not exactly. Members of my family came down with it first. I got it a week later. By the time I was supposed to go back to work, I had put together a new resume and sent it out to every place that popped up which might offer a job for which I qualified.

I landed one, and I feel very lucky for it. Not only am I doing something I know, but it is offering me time to do something else I enjoy: write.

Very soon, I will be posting more chapters.

Chapter 6 has been submitted for posting!

I will be working on the next chapter this weekend while I have specific things in my head and don't want to go another six months for the next post!!!

Wish me luck!

Update June 2021

First and foremost: no, I am not dead. I've been busy at a new job in a warehouse - the most physically demanding job I have ever had!

That being said, I am finally picking up my creative pen again.

Before my absence, I was almost finished with my newest chapter. I've been going over it again and finishing off the little things that needed appropriate attention, so it should be posted this weekend.

I recently received a message from a reader with a few questions about my series. Here's the questions and answers:

Q: After this arc, are you going to further develop the relationships between the Fonti and Stirpe?
A: At this rate, it's a massive effort to write the main stories. I do hope to include more development between Seth and all of his Fonti and Stirpi during those stories, making sure to include something new from everyone who has already appeared - and those who I have recently added, but haven't had much story-time. So, to answer your question, yes, but not as stand-alone stories or shorts.

Q: Are you going to add faith and Kelly Conner as Fonti?
A: Now, what kind of a surprise would that be if I answered this question??? I cannot confirm nor deny whether those two will become Seth's Fonti.

Q: I am also interested in how Seth's House operates. Like has he built up his guardians?
A: Seth has two guardians currently, Michael and Greta. Chloe also acts like Seth's personal guard, but she is not an official Guardian.

Q: How does he financially support his house?
A: This is an outstanding question and something that will be a big issue in the book I have planned to follow Free Magus. Therefore, the answer to this is coming.

Q: Will his Fonti play an important part in running his House?
A: Fonti, as Magi views them, have no place in running a House. Only Magi help run a House. Generally speaking, Fonti are "cattle '' to help feed a Magus' power. As such, other Magi - even the ones in Seth's House and who know Seth's Fonti personally - would not recognize them as anything more.

Q: Also now that he has run into the Guild is he going to fight them or find a mediation between the guild and the council?
A: This is an issue that the remainder of the series will deal with.

Also please don't forget the rest of the harem, because as a reader I don't like when Authors forget members of the harem. Keep them involved please!!!

I don't plan to forget anyone. In fact, I'm like you, I don't want to leave anyone behind. Which is why I'm having so much trouble with Free Magus - everything seems to be new!! Once I finish this story, the next one will take Seth back to Texas, his new home, and all the women he hasn't seen in (believe it or not) the last few weeks! Not to mention, explaining Alyssa to Faith, introducing Olive to the girls, and possibly anyone else who tags along with him after Free Magus. Keep in mind, I've written up a database program to help me keep track of all of the characters in my series, not only Seth's Fonti and Stirpi, but all other characters too - Magi and Benal (non-magical folk) alike! So, when putting together then next story, I should already know who's involved and how.

Q: Are you going to involve different Magi in missions?
A: Well, other Magi are already involved. Some will work in the background or on subtle levels, while others will be big, loud, and direct. It's all a matter of what the character is like and what's called for in the story. If you're speaking of any of Seth's Stirpi, specifically, then yes, they will be involved in different stories. I also have plans for more Magi showing up in different stories as things progress. Whether they'll be recurring characters or not will depend on the scenarios they get into.

Q: Maybe Seth could take three Fonti and two or three Stirpe with one or two Fonti each on missions...?
A: Not a bad suggestion. And, to be honest, when Seth left for Virginia for the reading of his biological Mother's will, he WAS planning on taking Fonti and Stirpi along. It was the situation that forced things to occur the way they did. Hind-sight 20/20, I'm sure Seth and his entourage will have backup plans in place should something like that happens again.

That was all of his questions. If anyone else has any questions, feel free to send a note or email.

Update December 2020

First and foremost, I have submitted chapter five of Free Magus for posting. That should hit some time this morning.

Second, I have posted chapter eight on my P@tr30n account for those who wish to get ahead.

Now, on to my world-o-problems!

When last I posted, I had just quit my job. Well, I'm still looking. There have been new issues that have further changed my status - sort of...

So, October passed fairly normally. Right up until the weekend before Halloween. I'm not certain that I'm allowed to go into any detail, so I will sum up with ... my son and I ended up moving back to East Texas where I lived before moving to Wichita Falls.

Yeah, I've moved AGAIN! Only this time we've been set up in a medium sized building as our bedroom next to my mother's house. I've run electricity to the building, including breakers, a ceiling fan, and several outlets. Hopefully, I'll find a job here in town soon and will be able to insulate the building so it'll hold heat and cool air better.

Not sure I mentioned it before, by my car ended up not only needing a new alternator, but a new battery as well. Both have since been replaced. Now, if only I could find a replacement window for the one that was broken...

Anyway, I've already received notice that the new chapter has posted, and while I am able to post and casually look things up on the internet, the location where I live has horrible reception. Even the internet connection on my phone is crap - only a doze or so KB/sec if not considered roaming!!!!

Yeah! I need a job so I can have internet again.

So, let me know what you think of the new chapter, and I hope the end of 2020 ends on a high note for everyone else as well!
