Ch 29 revision 1 is with the editors, and I'm having LOADS of fun fighting for every breath with a massive asthma attack - my inhaler is out and no prescription...
may end up calling 911...

Edit: Emergency taken care of. It's a scary thought, feeling like you're about to pass out and not even sure you'll wake back up.

Between being sick and struggling with bills because the only vehicle we have broke down for almost a week, I've not gotten much done.

I know the two issues don't seem like much, but the cost of getting the part for the truck was well over $200.00. Fortunately, my brother is a fairly good auto mechanic, and was a big help explaining what we had to do to replace the part. It only took me and a friend two days to do the work. :P But the money, that hit us hard. My sister put in a lot of extra hours at work to help make up the difference - which meant I have been watching her kids a lot more than usual - and the utilities had to be juggled too, but we've made it through.

Being sick sucks. Dunno if I've mentioned that before. I'm just getting over some kind of spring flu (soar throat, fever, light body aches). It kept me in bed for three days.

Now, on top of it all, I'm having problems with the router Verizon furnished for my internet connection. I've concluded the problem is with the router because it shows it's not connected to the internet one second, and then it's connected again the next. This has been going on for over a week and everything else I've tried has eliminated the possibility of it being the phone jack it's plugged into or my computer. What cinched it for me tonight was when I went to reset the box (turn it off, unplug the connection to the phone box, wait a min, reconnect the phone cord, turn it back on) I found the box it had been sitting on was wet. The problem is, the phone cord can't be more than 6 feet long (according to Verizon). So, that keeps it near a window on the south side of the house which is cracked open so an antennae cable can feed the TV. We don't have any form of cable TV, just the converter box for digital transmissions. The router sat on a small box on the seat of the window - possibly close enough to the quarter-inch crack to get moist if not wet. I didn't think the rain we've had recently would affect the router, but I can't find any other reason for the problem. I hung the box on the wall via the slots on the bottom of the box and for the most part, that seems to help, but occasionally the connection drops again. I may be looking at having to ask Verizon to send us another box, and with me being a month behind on the payments (I only got about $90 last month from donations), I'm not sure what they'll say.

On the good side, I've finished ch 28 (been through the editors' screening and all) and am about half-way through ch 29. 28 isn't much of a chapter on it's own, so I'll wait until 29 has been edited and post them together.

Just thought I'd offer an update since it's been so ling since I posted last. :(

It's been almost two months since my last blog, and longer since my last post. I apologize for both but circumstances have been out of my hands.

In the beginning of March, two of my family members underwent surgery. In fact, it was the two adults I live with. These surgeries meant my responsibilities went way up, and time to write or anything else, way down. Fortunately, now, everything is settling back into the routine it once was. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten any writing done at all. I have ideas, general ones, but nothing on paper or my computer.

So, I am back, sort of. I'm working on chapter 28 once again and am determined simply to write it out, see what it looks like, and make any changes needed to make it fit what's going on it the story. Same goes for the remaining chapters for Sibling Magus.

I am looking at an old issue again too. Internet access. I know I don't deserve it, but should anyone care to make a donation, I can accept Paypal (use my email address: technicdragon@gmail.com).

I'm honestly looking forward to finishing this story, as I'm sure many of you are anxious to finish reading it. I'm putting myself down to having the first full draft of ch 28 finished by monday, if not more. Postings should start next weekend.

Yesterday, I received some solid advice from an author I've read and appreciated over the years. Thank you. It was just what I needed to hear. As such, ch 28 is moving along smoothly now. I should be sending this draft to my editors this afternoon.

I've been having a problem with the next chapter of Sibling Magus. Well, really, problems with chapter 28. I already have chapters 26 and 27. In fact, after I post this, I'll convert those and submit them for posting. The problem is making sure I'm continuing to follow the plot of the book rather than just following the events of Seth's life. I know there doesn't seem to be much difference at this point, but if I fall too far from the core plot, then this will feel like those other "soap opera" stories that don't really have a beginning-middle-ending structure and ramble on and on without end. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of a couple of those stories, but that's not what I want out of my stories.

So, I'm still trying to work out what's going to happen in ch28 and what's not. Once I get past that, I'll be able to move forward.

I received my internet bill last week. I didn't have enough money last month to pay at all, and what money I did receive through donations ended up helping out with gas to get me to and from my kids place. Therefore, this bill is for two months: Jan+Feb = $143.40.
