It isn't long, or in depth, but it grew out of a comment about my muse. So, it is called Muse! It's my fisrt stroke story, which I found oddly harder to write than multiple chapters.
It's in for approval now, so I hope you all enjoy!
Ok, well, this time my new chapter came out much FASTER than I expected, but at the same time I am really relieved, because I get to keep my not-quite-a-promise.
So, here for your enjoyment (the mods have to enjoy it first though, so hang on), is the next chapter of Dance with a Devil.
**Update**
While I do appreciate feedback, and thank you to all those who fire off comments to me, I have to admit that once in a while I get a comment that I find somewhat annoying. Today's was the one that took the cake though. I'm not going to put up the whole thin, just the one part.
"Dude you really need to speed up posting on this
one."
Now, again, I appreciate comments, but please, don't be so presumptuous as to tell me what I need to do for a story. It's not just arrogant, but rather rude as well.
So, to all of those who are watching, Necromancer of Kemmril is done! I just submitted the last chapter, after working on it since, well, the last time I wrote a chapter. I finally found my muse for that story.
And yes, I *am* working on the next chapter of "Dance", I've just had to literally restart the next chapter. Hopefully we'll have it before years end, but no promises. Real life loves to get in the way.
Well, the writing gremlins are still beating my muse to a bloody pulp. BUT, I did just throw a story into the grinder. It's a bit of an older one, written in the world of Star Wars that I'm surprised to see I haven't put up here yet. It's proof though, that I do finish stories!
It was my first attempt at a dirty story, so please, bear with the rough edges.
"Oh hell... why not?"
That's what I said to myself after posting the start of "Dance with a Devil." It wasn't long before I put "Necromancer of Kemmril" up and I got a good response to it too.
Now the funny thing, to me anyway, is that Necromancer is the older story. I started that one years ago and I could never make the next chapter work. So it sat in the darkness while I moved on to other things.
Dance came about because I read a similar story and asked myself if I could write one like it. Turns out I could, and I'm rather fond of it. But I found myself in the same predicament with Dance as with Necromancer. I've written most of the next chapter, but now I'm not sure it's going where I originally planned it to.
After I joined this site though, and read the blogs of many authors, I realised that my stories had taken a life of their own, and no matter how I try and write them, they will go where they want, my plans be damned.
So it's time to pull out the rest of Necromancer and let it go where it will, and to let the music play for Dance. Some readers will think this a meaningless rant. Others will smile and nod as they recognise the same challenges they have faced, and others may just pick up a pen and see what flows from the tip. Either way, I hope you all look forward to seeing how my stories evolve as much as I now do.
