So on a good note for the reader community here. I have learned from my inactive story that I should only post once I have enough to finish the story. So that's what I did with "One Boy, One Girl." It's based off the Colin Ray song by the same name, just fleshing out the characters some. So the idea is from his song, I just added to it.
The feedback request. My "First and Second Date..." story has proven to be a rough one to write and I keep stalling out. Is there any interest in me picking it up and finishing it?

Part two of my Veteran's day writing attempt has been posted and my short story is now complete. I apologize ahead that it isn't a story I had edited - I didn't want to lose the emotions behind it by over analyzing the content. So it's a rougher story then I'd ideally like, but hopefully the meaning and emotion behind it will make up for it. I'll get back to my other story in the next week or so.

I'm drawing some inspiration from thoughts I've had in reflecting on Veteran's Day today. So I'm posting a two part story meant as a tribute for the generation(s) of Soldier/military that came before me. The contrast is in comparing the experiences of a father and son with the differences in a Vietnam era Marine and a contemporary era Soldier.

Don't worry though, I'm only taking a short break from my First and Second Date story and will be picking that back up. I should have the second part of this story complete within the next day or two and then will continue on with my other story from there.

Given that today is Veteran's Day here in the US I've been spending some time reflecting, in the process an idea for a story/tribute emerged. I hope you'll breast with my taking a short break from my First and Second Date (after all, it is just a short break). This is just going to be a short story and with a little luck I'll be able to have it posted tonight. You'll have to excuse me if it's not 100% historically accurate, but some of the events depicted will be very loosely based on what I can find out happened at those moments in time, with some fiction added in.

Chapter 23 will be posted sometime today. I've gotten ason's much appreciated assistance with editing so hopefully you'll find it more readable now. 24 should be to my editors before the week is over.
