Chapter 49 - Doing It Right The Second Time - has been posted. Also, I have reposted the following chapters:

Chapter 48 - Resistance Is Futile
Chapter 6 - A Day of Discoveries

The changes in chapter 48 were only a few grammatical issues. However, the major change in chapter 6 dealt with a continuity issue. Back when I originally wrote this chapter there was a reference to Penny coming home early because a cheer practice had been canceled. While it didn't explicitly say Penny was a cheerleader, that was my intent oh so many years ago. Of course, I didn't go that direction. And, after my extended (i.e. 6 year) break, I never went back and dealt with it. Amazingly, no readers ever picked up on it! The change involved having Penny coming home early because Mandy Shaw's cheer practice was canceled.

As for the status of chapter 50, I've split it into two chapters because of the length. So, chapter 50 & 51 make up the original.

Chapter 50 is all but finished. Mel spends some time at the Rayners before going out on the group date.

I won't post chapter 50 until I've completed chapter 51. It shouldn't take long to finish.

"Chapter 48 - Resistance Is Futile" has been posted.

I've also posted a revised Cast of Characters. The revisions include a number of new characters and an expanded background section.

The additions include:
- City/town, subdivision, and college names
- School names
- Additional background for existing characters

Most of the new characters are classmates, friends, coaches, and cheerleaders that will interact with Melissa over the remaining chapters of this book.

Also, a very minor continuity error was fixed in "Chapter 42 - The Crime Scene".

It's autumn here now. Great hiking weather!

I'm not going to post chapter 48 this week. I want to take another look at it and the upcoming chapters. Also, I'm not going to be announcing any more posting dates for now. Usually I post on Fridays or Saturdays. Just check in those days.

"Chapter 47 - Best Friends Share Everything" - has been posted. I hope everyone enjoys it. A lot more revelations in this one, as well as more questions needing answers.

"Chapter 48 - Resistance Is Futile & Doing It Right The Second Time" will be posted most likely on Sept 28. It's a very important chapter, as well as being a very large one at the moment. However, there is the possibility that I may split this chapter. If I do, "Chapter 48 - Resistance Is Futile" likely will be posted a week earlier with a new "Chapter 49 - Doing It Right The Second Time" to follow it.

I hope everyone had a fun summer. It was good to have some time to relax and reflect on the story and its future.
