I've pretty much recovered from the ice storm we had in the Southeast USA last week. We were without electricity for several days and had a lot of cleaning up to do. I'm now back into a writing groove. At this point, I'm hoping to post chapter 53 in a few weeks.

This will be a relatively important chapter because of the introduction of the Jeffcoats and Thompsons directly into the story. Melissa is introduced to and discovers a number of new things, just as she was in the last chapter.

I had hoped to pick up the pace for posting chapters this year. Two winter storms over the past month have really put a damper on my plans though. Hopefully that can change now. But please remember, this is just a hobby for me. Life and family will always come first.

Also, I want to thank my editor, Nick, for hanging in there with me. He's been very loyal and I very much appreciate his time and expertise. I wish all of you could see the magic he does in cleaning up my drafts. He has certainly made "Melissa's Secrets" a better story with his help and suggestions. I can't thank him enough.

A reminder - If you do not have the "Access Level" on the Preferences section of "My Account" set to "Full Access", you won't see all of my stories, specifically "Melissa's Secrets".

Our electricity is out after getting a whole lot of sleet and freezing rain. I hope to get back to writing soon. We've got heaters so we won't be too cold. It's snuggling weather anyway!

"Chapter 52 - Getting There Is Half the Fun" is in the queue and should be posted very shortly. This begins an important turn in the story to the discovery of the big secret shared by Andrea and Colleen. Other secrets will also be resolved, as well as uncovered, over the remaing chapters.

I've also reposted (in the queue as well) "Chapter 51 - A Night Of Firsts" with a significant change to the final few scenes. After receiving comments and thinking through how the scene was orignally written, I decided to alter it. Both Peter and Melissa came across as being "out of character". Mel pushed Peter into something he was saying no to. Even Andrea and Greg allowed it to occur in the original version, which was very out of character for them. Thus the change. Otherwise, chapter 51 is still the same (except for a few typo fixes).

"Chapter 51 - A Night Of Firsts" - has been posted.

The next few chapter will begin moving Melissa toward unraveling the big secret as she visits her grandparents in Long Cane.

Again, I do appreciate all of your comments and feedback, even if I can be a little slow in replying.
